Iron Age House in Tell el-Far'ah

Tell el-Far'ah is located northeast of the city of Nablus, about 11 kilometers away, on the road connecting Tubas and Nablus. It is situated on the edge of a rocky slope facing southeast-northeast. The site is also known as "Old Tirzah."

The French School of Archaeology in Jerusalem conducted nine excavation campaigns at the site between 1936 and 1960, under the supervision of De Vaux.

The origins of settlement at the site date back to the Late Neolithic period. During the Chalcolithic period, the site transformed into a small village, and during the Early Bronze Age, it expanded significantly. The settlement continued during the Middle and Late Bronze Ages. The latest evidence of settlement at the site dates to the Iron Age.

The discovered model house at Tell el-Far'ah represents a typical example of residential structures from the Second Iron Age.
