Cartridge of King Narmer - Tel Sheikh Ahmed Al-Arayni
This is a pottery fragment bearing hieroglyphic inscriptions discovered during archaeological excavations in Palestine. It is an inscribed fragment on a pottery jar that bears the name Narmer (Mina). King Narmer is the first king and founder of the First Egyptian Dynasty. Similar fragments have been found at several sites in southern Palestine, such as Ein Besor, Rafah, Tell el-Khuweilfeh, and Tel Sheikh Ahmed Al-Arayni. The cartridge of King Narmer at these sites represents the earliest evidence of writing found in Palestine to date.
Its presence in Palestinian archaeological contexts, dating back to the 3rd millennium BCE, serves as evidence of political and cultural relations between Canaan and Egypt during the Early Bronze Age
