Abbasid Silver Dirham
An Abbasid silver dirham struck at the Dar al-Salam (Baghdad) mint, weighing 4.20 grams, dated 193 AH during the reign of Caliph Muhammad al-Amin ibn al-Rashid (193-196 AH / 809-811 CE). The Abbasid dirhams bear the following inscriptions in Kufic script: on the obverse, "There is no god but Allah, He is One, He has no partner," and in the border, "Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, whom He sent with guidance and the religion of truth, to manifest it over all religion." The reverse reads, "Allah is One, Allah is the Eternal. He neither begets nor is born," and in the border, "In the name of Allah." This dirham was minted in the year 193.
