Byzantine Bronze Follis
A Byzantine bronze follis, derived from the Latin word "Follis," struck in Constantinople, weighing 16.54 grams. The obverse side features a half-length portrait of Emperor Anastasius I with a pearl-adorned crown, wearing a robe, and his face turned to the right. The scene is surrounded by Latin inscriptions revealing the emperor's name. On the reverse side, there's a large letter "M" at the center, flanked by stars on the left and right, with a cross above them, and a letter "B" below, which signifies the mint and the Constantinople mintmark. This piece was found in the Hebron region.
