Byzantine Terracotta Lamp
A terracotta lamp with a lozenge shape and a ring-shaped base. These lamps were made by a two-part mold, one upper and one lower part, which were engraved with decorations and inscriptions. Afterward, they were joined before being placed in the kiln. The lamp's opening features a common Greek inscription: "The light of Christ shines upon the whole world." This lamp bears clear Christian religious symbols and was discovered in a Byzantine-era tomb in Atara, north of Ramallah.
