Perfume Flask

A terracotta perfume flask was found in Ramallah and is known by its Greek name, "Anjuntrion." It has a spindle-like shape with a long ring-shaped base and a long cylindrical neck. It was used for storing fragrant substances. Some believe it was a funerary vessel used to store tears and placed in tombs with the deceased. Its usage was prevalent during the Hellenistic period in the Mediterranean Basin region, and these vessels have been discovered in many archaeological sites in Palestine.
